Obstetrics Cycle

It's been a century since the last time I write in English. What to do, my Chinese is far better than my broken English. *Sigh~
However, writing my blog in English will never help to improve my language, I use English just for a better explanation about my subject of study. PS: Usually my blog has nothing to do with the academic thing, just complaints, complaints, and complaints. =P

Alright, for the past few weeks, I have had obstetrics classes either in maternity home no.6 where we have to travel around 1.5hr from our hostel or in the class downstairs of my hostel. It was a torturing and depressing cycle because you went for class everyday just to get a scold from lecturer. Some would ask me that weren't you and your friends never prepare for class or wasn't the lecturer too strict and have a high expectation. Yes, it might be, but from our point of view, lecturer sometimes was just too unreasonable, even though we finished preparing for the next day class, we just couldn't answer lecturer correctly and couldn't write a perfect control test for her. Then, we got scolded! "You never study for class, you have no knowledge, I come to discuss and share you with knowledge and not here to give you whatever knowledge you need!" "You all never learn, you don't pay any times to study obstetrics". No matter how hard we have studied, we got this kind of scold literally EVERYDAY! It was really stressed when you study for the class, but the lecturer just cannot have a little understanding and empathy.

We studied the manual books, we have read the topic, but what she want were those have never written in books, which required experience. Oh please, we are not obstetrician and not even a doctor yet, you can't expect we know everything, we are not born with all the knowledge required to survive your classes. Moreover, we almost failed every control of hers everyday, how depressing could it be.

Owh, this is the lecturer downstairs my hostel I was talking about, the lecturer from maternity home is a better and relative "tame". Although she seldom scold us with harsh words, what she wanted was us to answer louder or else she would teach us in a very soft voice until we couldn't hear what she was talking about. There were still people who speak very soft very soft and sometimes don't want or don't know how to answer even though lecturer was just discussed it 20 minutes before. As a result, bravo, another scold to get.

The most interesting part of the cycle was that we can actually get in the delivery room to watch labour. You just couldn't explain how touched you felt especially when a mother trying so hard to deliver her baby and when you saw tears from a mother's eyes when she first heard of her baby's cry. A baby is the best gift from God, isn't it? =)

A special thank to the mothers in maternity home who provided us an opportunity to learn and to practise on. PS: lecturer asked us to say "Thank You" in quite a loud volume, always! =.=

For several times, we worried that we can't get our credit and have to replace classes, but finally we got our zachut today and here end my first cycle of my 4th year. A really rock-hard kick-start of my new semester. T.T

So, say "Bye" to honeymoon, and crawling back very slowly to student's life~
